Salsa Chicken

This is a super yummy recipe that is budget friendly and doesn’t require very many ingredients.

I usually serve it with rice and black beans and corn but it is great on its own too!

It is great to prep ahead of time to shred and serve in a fajita, taco, etc.

Salsa Chicken

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 35-40 minutes


1 lb chicken

4 teaspoons taco seasoning

1 cup salsa

2 cups monterey jack shredded cheese


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 9×13 inch dish.


2. Place chicken in pan and season with taco seasoning.


3. Pour salsa over chicken.


4. Bake 30 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and a meat thermometer reads at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit.


5. Add cheese and switch oven to broiler and let cheese melt for about 5 minutes.
