French fries seem like they would be easy but we have ended up with undercooked and over cooked fries many times.
After a few rounds of testing I have found this is the best result! ￼￼￼￼￼￼
Start by washing potatoes. I used 4 small ones.
Cut off the ends so it can stand up on its own.
Then take each potato and slice in half longways. Cut each half into strips like fries. Repeat with remaining potatoes. Freeze for about 10 minutes while deep fryer heats to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Place frozen fries in basket and fry about 10-15 minutes on 375 degrees Fahrenheit. If you don’t like your fries to be really crispy, turn down the heat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit halfway through cooking.
When they are done, place in a bowl or basket, sprinkle with salt and pepper and toss to coat all the fries.
Serve with your favorite dipping sauces!
